Maple House Nursing Home

Staff Training

Our staff attend regular Health and Safety training and are always made aware of their responsibilities and duties in this respect.

At Maple House Care Home our aim is to provide care to our service users to a standard of excellence which enhances fundamental principles of good care practice: this may be evidenced and evaluated throughout the practice/conduct and control of quality care in the Home.

All members of staff receive an initial comprehensive induction and training prior to working with residents. The mandatory training which is updated annually includes:

  • Challenging Behaviour
  • Dementia Care
  • Palliative Care
  • First Aid
  • Communication
  • Principles of Care
  • Infection Control
  • Food and Nutrition
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Mental Capacity Act

The nursing staff continue their training at internal and external venues, including Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, Fleet Hospital and Frimley Park Hospital
